Una de las ciudades m\u00e1s creativas y diversas del mundo, Londres ha contribuido a dise\u00f1ar el mundo tal y como lo conocemos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Me apeo en la m\u00edtica <strong>Victoria Station<\/strong> y camino hacia <strong><em>Buckingham Palace<\/em><\/strong> justo a tiempo para ver el cambio de los <strong><em>Royal Guards<\/em><\/strong>, vestigios de lo que a\u00fan les convierte en un <strong><em>empire<\/em><\/strong>. Tomo <strong><em>Birdcage Walk<\/em><\/strong> dejando <strong><em>St. James Park<\/em><\/strong> a mi izquierda. Me sit\u00fao entre <strong><em>Westminster Abbey<\/em><\/strong> y el <strong><em>Parliament<\/em><\/strong>, cierro los ojos y escucho a <strong><em>Ben<\/em><\/strong>, la campana <strong><em>Big Ben<\/em><\/strong>. A continuaci\u00f3n <strong><em>Trafalgar Square<\/em><\/strong> donde\u00a0 los turistas alimentan a las palomas y charlo con uno de los <strong><em>bobbies<\/em><\/strong> sobre c\u00f3mo el n\u00famero de turistas aumenta y disminuye el de viajeros a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o. Desde ah\u00ed me dirijo a <strong><em>Piccadilly Circus<\/em><\/strong>, y descanso en uno de los pelda\u00f1os de la plaza, contemplo las hordas de adolescentes buscar las tiendas de moda en <strong><em>Regent\u2019s Street<\/em><\/strong>, cupido desde su atalaya no tiene claro hacia quien dirigir una de sus flechas. En vez de girar a la izquierda, hacia <strong><em>Regent\u2019s<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em> giro a mi derecha, hacia <strong><em>Covent Garden<\/em><\/strong>, anta\u00f1o refugio de futuros actores o estrellas de rock, que lamentablemente en el siglo veintiuno solo encontrar\u00e1n consuelo en uno de esos <strong><em>talent shows<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En Londres, los j\u00f3venes de este siglo ya no buscan templos del sonido y un buen <strong><em>ale<\/em><\/strong> como <strong><em>The Hippodrome<\/em><\/strong> o <strong><em>The Candem Palace<\/em><\/strong>, ya desaparecidos. Las turbas de adolescentes, por su parte, contin\u00faan incansables buscando tiendas de supuesta moda, desconozco qui\u00e9n es el tal <em><strong>Fitch<\/strong><\/em> o <em><strong>Abercrombie<\/strong><\/em> y no conozco m\u00e1s <em><strong>Hollister<\/strong><\/em> que los <em><strong>Happy Hollisters<\/strong><\/em> de la saga creada por el genial <em><strong>Jerry West<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Londres es adem\u00e1s el <em><strong>British Museum<\/strong><\/em>, la <em><strong>National Gallery<\/strong><\/em>, la<em><strong> Tate Modern<\/strong><\/em> o el <em><strong>Natural Science Museum<\/strong><\/em>. Londres y sus decenas de parks, lugares como el <em><strong>Speakers&#8217; Corner<\/strong><\/em> en <em><strong>Hyde Park<\/strong><\/em> para expresarse en libertad. Londres, adem\u00e1s tiene una vida subterranea, <em><strong>the Tube<\/strong><\/em>, donde <em><strong>buskers<\/strong><\/em> de todo tipo deleitar\u00e1n sus oidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Atardece, paseo por el <strong><em>Mall<\/em><\/strong> rumbo <strong><em>Buckingham Palace<\/em><\/strong> de nuevo, los turistas van desapareciendo, la tarde me regala unos tonos ocres preciosos, un <strong><em>lawn<\/em><\/strong> tan verde que me invita a recostar mi cuerpo, abro los brazos, cierro los ojos y me digo una vez m\u00e1s, como tantas veces: \u201c<strong><em>London, the time of my life<\/em><\/strong>\u201d.
